Tinubu faces no threats

Kaduna Governor Uba Sani says Bola Tinubu faces no threats in 2027, urging patience and praising those who fought to expand Nigeria’s democracy

Tinubu faces no threats to his 2027 ambition, according to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, who dismissed talk of a formidable coalition during a live television interview.

The governor argued that critics lacked the democratic pedigree of those who challenged military rule in the 1990s, noting he spent years in street protests and courtrooms alongside the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi.

Sani recalled how their legal battle forced the electoral body to allow more parties, asserting that today’s political diversity owes its existence to those early victories rather than to what he called “latter day activists”.

He rejected claims that the Independent National Electoral Commission is blocking fresh parties, stressing that genuine reformers seek wider participation, not quick power grabs.

The governor maintained that President Tinubu’s economic policies need time to mature, predicting visible gains before voters return to the polls in two years.

Sani urged patience, insisting that veteran politicians recognise the rhythm of political contests and will not be rushed by early noise from rivals.
