The President, in a goodwill message issued on Tuesday, commended Ogala’s longstanding contributions to Nigeria’s democratic development and the growth of the APC, highlighting his pivotal role in strengthening the party’s legal framework over the years.

Tinubu celebrates Babatunde Ogala at a time when the Senior Advocate continues to be recognised for his influence within Nigeria’s legal and political landscape.

The President said Ogala’s expertise and strategic guidance were instrumental in the party’s successful defence of its 2023 presidential election victory.

Ogala previously served as the APC’s Head of Legal and later as Vice Chairman of the Legal Directorate of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

He also coordinated the legal team that represented the President from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal through proceedings at the Supreme Court.

President Tinubu said Ogala’s dedication to justice and constitutional democracy helped reinforce the legal foundation of the APC’s electoral success while contributing to the credibility of Nigeria’s democratic process.

“The President notes that Ogala’s exceptional legal expertise, strategic counsel and unwavering commitment to justice played a significant role in strengthening the legal foundation of APC’s successful 2023 presidential campaign and upholding the integrity of Nigeria’s democratic process,” the statement said.

Beyond partisan politics, Tinubu also praised Ogala’s contributions to higher education through his role as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Lagos State University, where he has championed institutional development, academic excellence and sound governance.

The President said Ogala’s achievements at the Bar and within the ruling party remain an inspiration to younger lawyers and emerging political leaders seeking to combine professional excellence with public service.

Offering prayers for the celebrant, Tinubu said, “As you mark this significant milestone, I pray that Almighty God will increase your wisdom and grant you more years in good health in your commitment to the ideals of justice and good governance.”

Ogala is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s accomplished Senior Advocates, with decades of legal practice spanning constitutional, electoral and commercial law.

His profile rose further during the legal battles that followed the 2023 presidential election, where he played a central role in defending Tinubu’s mandate through Nigeria’s appellate courts.
