In a post on X on Monday, Shehu described the expenditure as “heartless governance,” citing a report which indicated that the Presidency spent at least N34.39 billion on foreign exchange purchases for international trips and related official duties over 24 months.

Shehu criticised the spending as a reflection of disregard for the plight of Nigerians.

“This is heartlessness in governance,” he wrote, adding that it amounts to governance terrorism, democratic robbery, and political banditry.

He further described the expenditure as economic sabotage, immoral, indecent, and a crime against humanity.
