Shaffy Bello Dating Younger Men

Shaffy Bello dating younger men was a fun phase, she says. At 54, the actress is done with that season and open to marriage—on her own evolving terms

Shaffy Bello dating younger men is a topic the veteran Nollywood actress has finally addressed—and she’s not holding back.

Speaking on the Dear Ife podcast with Ifedayo Agoro, the 54-year-old revealed that she once dated a younger man purely for fun, but she won’t be doing that again.

“When I dated the younger man, I was having fun, and it was for a season. That season is over,” she said. “What I want now is different.”

Known affectionately as Aunty Shaffy, the actress shared that she’s in a new headspace and is now open to marriage though not in the traditional, rigid way many Nigerians view it.

Some will say ‘Hi dear’ and you just want to insult their mother

“I don’t mind marriage, but I have a very different opinion on it. A lot of people are very rigid when it comes to marriage,” she added.

Despite being single, Shaffy revealed that both older and younger men still shoot their shot in her DMs. Some, she noted, come across as flattering; others, not so much.

“Some will say ‘Hi dear’ and you just want to insult their mother,” she joked. “But it’s flattering.”

Shaffy Bello was married for 25 years to Mr. Akinrimisi, with whom she shares two children. Their marriage ended in 2020.

For her, life now is about clarity, maturity, and purpose—and the days of casual dating younger men are firmly in the past.
