Burnley confirmed the departure in an official statement on Thursday, noting that both parties agreed his tenure at Turf Moor should come to an end after one season back in England’s top flight.

Scott Parker originally guided the club to promotion after a strong Championship campaign, but struggled to replicate that form in the Premier League, with the team managing only four league victories all season.

The club’s relegation was confirmed on April 22 following a narrow home defeat to Manchester City, ending their hopes of survival after a season marked by defensive fragility and inconsistent results.

Burnley conceded 68 goals in 34 league matches, the highest in the division, and also suffered early exits in both domestic cup competitions against lower-league opposition.

Despite the poor league performance, the club praised Scott Parker for his professionalism and contribution, particularly highlighting the promotion-winning campaign that included a 31-match unbeaten run in the Championship.

In his farewell statement, Parker described his time at Burnley as a privilege and said the decision to leave was in the best interest of both sides, adding that he leaves with pride in what was achieved during his spell at the club.

Burnley confirmed that assistant coach Mike Jackson will take interim charge for the remaining fixtures of the season, starting with the upcoming match against Leeds United.

The club has also begun preparations to appoint a new permanent head coach ahead of the 2026/27 campaign as it looks to rebuild following relegation.
