GAFDAN accuses military personnel of killing nine cows in Tangoron, Bassa LGA, Plateau State, urging investigation and compensation

The Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN) has accused military personnel of killing nine cows in Tangoron community, Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.

The alleged attack occurred on March 2, 2026, while herdsmen were grazing, resulting in two cattle dying instantly, two slaughtered due to injuries, and five others severely wounded.

GAFDAN called for a transparent investigation and compensation for the livestock owners.

However, Captain Chinonso Oteh, spokesman for Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), denied knowledge of the incident, asserting no confrontations had occurred with Fulani herders in recent times.

He confirmed an investigation would still be carried out.
