Osas Ighodaro shares emotional experience of breakup after discovering partner with another woman, calling it a painful yet ultimately positive turning point

Nollywood actress and philanthropist Osas Ighodaro has shared the painful story of a past relationship, revealing how a dramatic confrontation ultimately ended her three-to-four-year romance.

Speaking on the Lone Wolf podcast, Ighodaro recounted visiting her former partner in Baltimore, only to discover a pregnant woman in his residence during an unannounced visit.

She said she was locked out of the house and later escorted away by security, an experience that became the turning point in the relationship.

“After getting a new car, I drove all the way to Baltimore to surprise my then-boyfriend. Five minutes felt like forever. He finally opened the door, and I said, ‘What took you so long? Surprise! Aren’t you happy to see me?’” Ighodaro recalled.

The actress said her partner’s response shocked her. “He said, ‘Why didn’t you say you were coming?’ I tried to go to his room, but it was locked. When I asked, he told me it was a girl, not a guy. I started shouting, and he called security to escort me out,” she said.

Ighodaro described the ordeal as devastating. “My whole world collapsed. I’ve always been a lover girl, someone who puts my all into relationships. This was young love, someone I thought I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, but clearly, he, or maybe God, had other plans.”

Reflecting on the experience, she said the heartbreak ultimately became a blessing. “I always knew that wasn’t going to be enough for me. My dreams are global and big, and moving to Baltimore wouldn’t help me achieve them. Eventually, I saw it as a blessing. You were about to go into a normal life, but the creative life isn’t normal.”
