Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and 1 Division Nigerian Army reaffirmed security partnership in Kaduna, enhancing protection for personnel, infrastructure, and surrounding communities

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and the 1 Division Nigerian Army have reinforced their security collaboration following a high-level meeting in Kawo, Kaduna State, on February 24, 2026.

Led by NDA Commandant, Oluyemi Olatoye, the visit aimed to enhance operational coordination and ensure better protection of the academy and neighbouring communities.

During a courtesy call at the division’s headquarters, Major General Olatoye expressed gratitude to the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Abubakar Sadique Muhammad Wase, for the ongoing operational support, particularly via the 37 Demonstration Battalion.

He highlighted that integrating the academy into the divisional security framework had significantly improved responses to threats, stating, “We must acknowledge the visible improvements in security around the Nigerian Defence Academy.”

The Commandant also noted that strengthened leadership and cooperation had addressed prior security gaps, ensuring sustained protection for personnel, infrastructure, and training activities.

The visit, conducted in line with military tradition, included discussions on security operations under Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Nigeria’s North-West region.

In response, Major General Wase commended NDA’s leadership for its training and institutional support, reaffirming the division’s commitment to continued collaboration and stressing that close coordination among military formations is essential for operational success and regional stability.
