Kano police arrest notorious thug ‘Auwalu Dan Daba’ for attacks, rescue critically injured victimThe Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspected notorious thug, 26-year-old Auwalu Ali, popularly known as ‘Auwalu Dan Daba,’ over his alleged involvement in organized thuggery and violent attacks on residents.

The suspect was apprehended on January 31 by officers attached to the Dorayi Division, following credible intelligence on his criminal activities, the police said in a statement released by Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Kiyawa on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori.

Ali is alleged to have coordinated and organized groups that attacked and robbed members of the public in various parts of Kano State.

In a related incident, officers from the Sharada Division responded to a distress call in Sharada Quarters, where a suspected armed robber was lynched by a mob after critically injuring a female victim. The injured woman was rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, where a police officer voluntarily donated blood to save her life.

Commending the actions of his officers, Commissioner Bakori praised their professionalism and selflessness and urged residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and avoid mob justice.

The police warned that jungle justice undermines law enforcement and stressed the importance of cooperation between the community and security agencies.
