Kano Federation Cup 2026 draw sets Kano Pillars, Barau FC and four others in knockout clash for state football glory and national qualification


The draw for the 2026 Kano State Federation Cup has set the stage for a highly competitive tournament, with six teams confirmed to compete for the prestigious state title.

The Kano Federation Cup 2026 draw features Nigeria Premier Football League sides Kano Pillars and Barau FC, alongside Nigeria National League club Bichi First FC and three Nationwide League One teams, Ahzuba FC, Pro Line FC and Chanji FC.

Defending champions Kano Pillars and last season’s runners-up Barau FC have both been handed byes into the semi-final stage, automatically securing their place in the final four as the competition structure takes shape.

In the opening round fixtures, Ahzuba FC will face Bichi First FC in what is expected to be a tightly contested encounter, while Chanji FC will lock horns with Pro Line FC in another knockout battle for progression.

The draw ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, drawing attention from local football stakeholders and club representatives ahead of the tournament.

Organisers have yet to announce the official kick-off date for the competition, which is expected to begin later in the season.

The winner and runner-up of the Kano State Federation Cup will earn qualification to represent the state in the national President Federation Cup, adding further competitive significance to the tournament.
