Justice Bamidele Adeleye of Ondo State High Court dies at 65, remembered as a distinguished jurist committed to fairness and the rule of law

Justice Bamidele Adeleye, presiding judge of High Court 5 in Akure, Ondo State, has passed away, the judiciary announced on Friday.

The Chief Registrar of the Ondo State High Court, Mr Ayodeji Akinsanya, confirmed the news, describing the late jurist as a symbol of integrity, wisdom, and dedication.

Born on January 16, 1961, Justice Adeleye was sworn in as a judge of the Ondo State High Court on September 8, 2011.

Before his appointment, he founded the law firm Fola Adeyeye & Co. in Okitipupa, contributing significantly to the legal profession in the state.

In a statement, the judiciary highlighted Justice Adeleye’s reputation for fairness, equity, and impartiality.

“Justice Adeleye departed this earthly realm on Thursday, March 12, 2026,” the statement read.

“He was widely respected among colleagues, members of the legal profession, and the public for his humility, erudition, and unwavering commitment to justice.”

The Ondo State Judiciary described his passing as a profound loss for the state and the nation, noting that his contributions to the judicial system would leave a lasting legacy.

Condolences were extended to his family, with prayers for strength to bear the “irreparable loss” and that his soul may rest in perfect peace.

Justice Adeleye’s career on the bench was marked by an unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law and fostering justice across Ondo State, leaving an enduring impact on colleagues, litigants, and the broader community.
