The FRSC Deploys 1,500 Personnel for Easter Safety operation is aimed at reducing road crashes and ensuring smooth vehicular movement as increased travel is expected across major highways in the state.

In a statement issued by the Sector Public Education Officer, Margaret Onabe, the command confirmed that emergency response teams, towing trucks, patrol vehicles, motorbikes, and ambulances have been stationed at strategic locations to respond swiftly to incidents and traffic obstruction.

The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, urged motorists to comply with traffic regulations and prioritise safety throughout the festive period.

She stressed the need for caution, especially as road traffic is expected to rise significantly during Easter movements.

Asekhauno also appealed to passengers to take responsibility for their safety by wearing seat belts, avoiding overloading, and reporting reckless driving to relevant authorities.

She emphasised that the FRSC Deploys 1,500 Personnel for Easter Safety initiative reflects the corps’ commitment to saving lives, ensuring public enlightenment, and providing rapid emergency response services across Anambra State.

The command also encouraged road users to utilise the FRSC toll-free emergency line, 122, in case of accidents or distress situations.

Easter, a major Christian festival commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, often triggers heavy intercity travel as families and worshippers move across different locations for celebrations and religious observances.
