Free medical screening in Sagamu will offer residents of Sagamu and Ogijo clinical assessments for eye, dental, surgical and other conditions

The Gateway Front Foundation has announced a free medical screening and clinical assessment programme for residents of Sagamu and Ogijo in Ogun State, with the exercise scheduled for Monday, 21 September 2026, from 9am.

The free medical screening in Sagamu will provide residents with access to assessments across several areas of healthcare, including eye care, dental health, general surgery, gynaecology, orthopaedics, diabetes and gastroenterology.

The foundation said the programme is designed to help residents identify health conditions that may require medical attention, specialist review or further treatment.

Among the conditions listed for assessment are cataracts, pterygium and other eye growths, as well as simple tumours, lipomas and ganglion cysts.

Residents with hernias, fibroids, prostate-related conditions, bone fractures and dislocations will also be able to receive clinical assessments.

Gynaecological cases will form part of the programme, with women presenting with conditions such as fibroids to receive appropriate evaluation and guidance.

The exercise will also help identify patients who may require procedures, including caesarean sections and other surgical interventions, for possible follow-up care.

The screenings will take place simultaneously at three locations across Sagamu and neighbouring Ogijo.

One centre will be at Orita Ijagba Square on Ijagba Street, Ijagba, Sagamu. Another will operate at Ewusi Palace on Ewusi Street, Makun, Sagamu.

Residents in Ogijo can attend the third centre at 46 Imoro Atiba Street, after Havilah School, off Ilara Market Road.

The foundation has encouraged residents experiencing relevant health concerns to attend the programme and make use of the opportunity to obtain professional medical assessment.

The initiative builds on GFF’s previous community healthcare activities in Ogun State, which have included free medical screening and eye-care services.

Earlier interventions associated with the foundation provided beneficiaries with eye tests, treatment, medicines and eyeglasses, extending the programme beyond initial screening to address identified needs.

GFF has also recently strengthened its healthcare leadership with the appointment of Dr Bankole Adegboyega Osisanya as Chief Medical Consultant.

The appointment forms part of the foundation’s wider humanitarian and community-development activities, with healthcare positioned as one of its areas of community intervention.

For residents, the September 21 programme offers an opportunity to have potentially overlooked conditions assessed without the usual cost of an initial clinical consultation.

The foundation has advised people with relevant concerns to attend the screening centres and seek further medical guidance where necessary.
