The announcement forms part of the NFF Flamingos coaching appointments ahead of preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation, the newly appointed technical crew will work under head coach Akeem Busari, who recently assumed leadership of the team following the departure of former handler Bankole Olowookere.

The inclusion of Jegede-Idakwo and Omodiaghe is expected to bring valuable playing experience into the coaching structure, as both former internationals transition into developmental roles within Nigeria’s women’s football system.

Kola Ige’s appointment as goalkeepers’ trainer further strengthens the technical department as the team prepares for a crucial qualifying fixture against either Niger Republic or Guinea.

Coach Akeem Busari has already taken early steps in squad building, inviting 36 players to camp as part of preparations for the second-round qualifying tie.

The Nigeria Football Federation said the new structure is aimed at improving technical depth and ensuring adequate preparation for international competition, as the Flamingos continue their long-term development pathway.
