FCTA workers, supported by NLC, picket Abuja Industrial Court in ongoing strike over unresolved labour disputes and rights violations

Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), supported by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), staged a picket at the National Industrial Court in Abuja on Monday as part of a total and indefinite strike over unresolved labour disputes.

The protest follows a directive from the NLC, which expressed full backing for the industrial action, describing it as justified amid alleged persistent violations of workers’ rights by FCTA management and political leadership.

At the court premises, protesters carried placards bearing messages such as “Wike must go!!”, “Abuja no be Rivers”, “Pay promotion arrears”, “Enough is Enough”, and “No working tools”, underscoring their grievances and frustrations over delayed promotions, lack of essential work resources, and management inaction.

The strike, now ongoing, has disrupted administrative operations across the FCTA, with the NLC warning that it would continue until the issues raised by workers are addressed satisfactorily.
