In a statement, XEJET CEO Emmanuel Iza acknowledged the support of Enugu State Governor Dr. Peter Mbah, noting that his dedication to aviation development continues to strengthen connectivity and drive economic growth in the region.

“This acquisition represents another milestone in our expansion plans. We are building a carrier that customers can trust and look forward to introducing additional services in the coming weeks,” Iza said.

Enugu Air: A Growing State-Owned Airline

Launched in July 2025, Enugu Air is owned by the Enugu State Government and is based at Akanu Ibiam International Airport.

Initially, the airline operated three Embraer 170 aircraft, each seating around 76 passengers.

To begin commercial operations, Enugu Air partnered with private carrier XEJET, which holds the regulatory approvals to operate flights on its behalf while Enugu Air completes its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC).

Under this partnership, XEJET manages ticket bookings and operates scheduled domestic flights for Enugu Air.
