DSS rescues Kano LG official Hamza Durya, arresting two suspects and ensuring his safe release in a swift security operation

The Department of State Services (DSS) has successfully rescued Alhaji Hamza Durya, Administrative Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Council, following his recent abduction in Kano State.

The development was confirmed by Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, who said security operatives were swiftly deployed after Durya was kidnapped from his residence in Durya village, Kibiya Local Government Area.

“In a well-executed operation, DSS personnel successfully freed the victim and apprehended two individuals believed to be involved in the kidnapping. The suspects were injured in the process,” Waiya stated.

The suspects reportedly sustained gunshot injuries during the encounter with DSS operatives. The commissioner praised the professionalism and dedication of the security agencies involved, describing the operation as a significant success.

Waiya also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for providing vital support to enhance security operations across the state.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, noting that public cooperation is essential for maintaining peace.
