The Northern Ireland international, 22, was carried off in the closing stages at Emirates Stadium and faces a race to recover in time for this summer’s World Cup, should Northern Ireland qualify through the play-offs.

“A big blow but surgery is done so the comeback starts now,” Bradley wrote on Instagram.

“It won’t be for a little while but I already can’t wait to get back playing for Liverpool and Northern Ireland. Thanks for all the support.”

Bradley has made 21 appearances for Liverpool this season, having previously missed several matches due to a hamstring issue. He has also earned 30 caps for Northern Ireland.

The incident at Arsenal drew attention after forward Gabriel Martinelli apologised for throwing the ball at Bradley and attempting to push him off the pitch while he lay injured.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has expressed support for Bradley, noting the defender’s professionalism and commitment to returning stronger for both club and country.
